Episode Four

Aelric appeared before his very eyes. He bowed and then smiled a mischievous grin."Hello old friend, you didn't think I would let you go about this journey by yourself." Rowland stood up and hugged his dear friend, then slipped his dagger back into his holster. "How are you?" Aelric scanned Rowland looking at his red dreary eyes. "How are you? Looks like you had some trouble before I got here." Rowland nodded. "I am fine. Thanks." Aelric patted  Rowland on the back. Still looking at him with a little concern but decided to leave the subject untouched because he figured it was about her. Only she could make him cry. Rowland squeezed Aelric's shoulder firmly and pulled him in for a hug. "Oh what took you? I thought you were only going to be in London for two days?" Aelric stood back then thought about it. "Well, I ran into some members of the Antiquarian. So I left and went to Vienna." Roland's eyes grew wide. "Austria?" He never usually questioned his friend but in this case he had questions. Vienna was the capital of the Antiquarian. Why would he make such a foolish move? Rowland stepped back a little from Aelric and his hands tense. "Vienna, Austria?" Rowland asked again like he had not heard him the first time. "Yes." Aelric nodded looking at Rowland with concern again. "Why? that is where all the followers of the Antiquarian live." Aelric looked at him puzzled. "Rowland" he began stepping closer only to make Rowland take another step back. "It is me, your brother! Your dear friend Aelric! I am not one of them! I just thought it would make sense to go there and lay low because of all places why would they look on their own soil?" Rowland drew a deep breath unable to answer the question he looked away. Aelric dropped to his knees. "Please. It is me. I will never betray you! We have been through too much together. Please see through the wall you have built. It is me." Rowland looked down at him like a god ready to grant mercy. "Okay, Aelric but let us never talk about this again." He swallowed his fear, praying that his friend had not become one of them.
