Episode Two

Groups of people were all around. The sun made it hard for Rowland to distinguish the different features on faces. Shadows of people moving back and forth. He searched the crowd for familiar faces, particularity Arietta's but hopefully Aelric was going to meet up with him. He had met him in Italy, 1705 and he was the only friend he had made with the same time traveling power. (Besides the antiquarian)  It was a relief to learn some self control especially when all the time you keep disappearing into new worlds. It would be nice to hang around for a couple years and enjoy the view but that probably wouldn't be possible at the moment. Two tall men walked toward him. Their dark expressions froze his thoughts. It was hard for him to think of other things when all he saw was their cold stares. He looked around cautiously. There apparently was no way to get out of this one right away. He turned and walked slowly down a dark alley, ready to take anything coming to him. The two men followed him quietly into the alley.

"So Rowland, how are you old friend?" One of the faithful followers asked. He flashed a dagger which only made Rowland want to leave the situation even more. "I am Pablo and this is my accompany Elion, we are here in representation of the antiquarian. Rowland relaxed a little. Maybe for once this fight won't be as painful. "I know who you are. What do you want?" Elion stepped forward. "We were not summoned to find you." Rowland shook his head. "What are you saying to me?" He stepped close to Elion, he could feels the tips of his ears getting red. Rowland was a typical hot head. He would get mad over anything. The smallest things triggered his changes in mood.  "We know what you are trying to do and it is probably best for you not to boast about your plans to the priest." Rowland squinted his eyes defiantly. "Yeah? You wanna know something?" Pablo stepped up toward the two, resting his hand on his halter. "What is it?" Pablo asked.

"I don't fucking believe you." Rowland turned toward the back of the alley. There were a pyramid of crates stacked, leading up to an open apartment window. He sighed heavily and began to climb. "Rowland!" Pablo called to his turned back. "It's okay for you not to believe us now but soon you will see."
